About Me:
Hello, my name is Sean and I'm a first generation college student looking to expand my horizons within the realm of technology! Unlike many kids today I didn't grow up in the interconnected world but rather on a small low-income farm, with nothing but some shotty cable tv. I got my first (minute based) flip phone at the age of 16 that I bought myself with whatever money I could save from my first job within my hometown of Claysville. This was my first brush with an IoT device and, as you could guess, it was terrible. Consequently it was also not that "cool". But that didn't stop me from developing an itch for technology. Long story short, I got my first "smart" phone at the age of 17 and my first laptop at the age of 18. But, I wanted to mess with the real internet. Technology and computers were still so new and foreign to me and I wanted to stick my nose in whatever I could get. So I bought the best hotspot plan I could, gave my laptop some reach, and burned out that poor phone in the process. When I dove into the internet I wasn't making posts about my breakfast, tweeting at Joe Shmo, or connecting with my cousins cousin on Facebook. I was learning anything any time I could. In school I was the tech kid and I shoved myself in every class that involved computers. On my own time I was ripping old computers apart and helping people around my neighborhood with their tech issues. I wasn't long before I noticed I had a deep interest and real knack for it. But I could only go so far on my own and I was also very naive. So, I took whatever I had and packed up for college on a whim. Staring down a computer science degree with no money, no parental advice, help, or hands to hold, has proven the hardest challenge I've ever faced so far. I could sit here an talk dramatically about a "coming from nothing story" all day but that's not what's gotten me here. My passions, dumb luck, great people, and endless work has been what's kept me moving forward and I've learned an incredible amount along the way. The crazy part is that I'm still young and have a long way to go and a lot more to learn. So that's exactly what I plan to do. So now that you know my story, I'm curious to see if I can be a part of yours.

IT technician/Data Analyst
- Design, Build, and Deploy backend SQL databases and implement frontend web interfaces/client forms to replace outdated database infrastructure and modernize employee interfaces for data entry.
- Familiarize with "FileMaker" and proprietary software utilized within the plant and implement cost effective solutions to replace outdated hardware/software.
- Work with employees and shareholders to train/implement software and data entry procedures on a department basis to maintain workflow, efficiency, ease of use, and plant policies/state guidelines (audits/safety regulation).
- Properly rebuild data infrastructure while maintaining integrity of historical records (encountered issues with invalid values and nested tables).
- Learn how to implement new functionality/modern plugins into new user GUI’s whilst maintaining functionality, integration with Steel manufacturing machines/old hardware and optimizing system resources. (Hardware was pre 2000's and often keyboard or function key only. RAM optimization was an issue overcome by simplifying forms and handling most of the processing with server-side virtual machines instead of local SQL-lite like databases used before)
